Distinguished Professorships

The Distinguished Professors Endowment Trust Fund program was established in 1985 by the North Carolina General Assembly.  The intent of the program is to generate private support and commitment to strengthening the faculties while also promoting excellence across the 16 campuses of The University of North Carolina.  The Trust Fund enables each institution to receive and match challenge grants to create endowed chairs for distinguished professors.
